A lot of times when shooting, we work around the weather conditions to create the best quality video productions. As for Doug’s branding video production it was a must this time to work around any sign of rain. The specific job he was covering was outside and one can just imagine what happens to wet paint mixed with rain. Before the morning of the shoot it had been raining the whole previous week on the Gold Coast. Luckily for us, there were only a few clouds in the sky and we could continue producing Doug’s video in all dryness. As for me, I was pretty excited, not just for producing but for going up in a lifting crane for the first time. With a camera.
Normally when we produce videos for businesses, it’s moslty produced “live”. In other words businesses continue their servicing or selling to clients while we produce their branding video. The 2 main reasons being that we like to create natural video productions to use for their websites. and secondly, as all business owners have their own clients to deal with. In Doug’s case, he had to paint massive warehouse buildings across the road from Harbour Town shopping Centre, with a very tight schedule to completion. So our aim was to produce Doug’s branding video while he was actually doing what he does for clients every day, from mixing paint to spraying & painting buildings.
All and all, after a little more than 2 hours of producing. I experienced not only what a painter does but the inspiration in producing a video for a business owner as passionate as “Doug Hart the painter”.
